Enable and edit cart order notes.

Allow customers to add special instructions or notes to their orders during the shopping process.

Enable Cart Order Notes

1. Go to Shopify Admin > Online Store > Themes
2. Click Customize on your theme
3. Navigate to Theme Settings > Cart
4. Enable “Show Cart Note”
5. Click Save

Edit Order Notes Label

Change the default label text that appears with the order notes field:

1. Go to Shopify Admin > Online Store > Themes
2. Click Actions > Edit languages
3. Navigate to General > Add cart note > Popup title
4. Enter your new label text (default: “Add note for seller”)
5. Click Save

Configure Cart Page Display

Control whether order notes appear on your cart page:

1. Go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize
2. Use the top navigation to select Cart page template
3. In the left menu, click Subtotal section
4. Check to show or uncheck to hide “Enable cart note”
5. Click Save
