Enable product filtering on your search and collection pages to help customers find products by availability, type, color, and other attributes.

Shopify Search & Discovery App

Use the Shopify Search & Discovery app to customize filters in your store. This app also allows you to:

• Customize search results
• Configure product recommendations
• Control how customers discover your products

Check Theme Compatibility

Ensure your theme supports filtering functionality:

1. Go to Online Store > Navigation in your Shopify admin
2. Look for the Collection and search filters section
3. If your theme doesn’t support filtering, a message will appear in this section

Note: You need an Online Store 2.0 theme to use filters. Older themes may not display filters even if created.

Enable Filter Display

Activate filtering in your theme settings:

1. Navigate to your collection pages in the theme customizer
2. Find the Product grid section settings
3. Enable the filtering option to display filters on your online store

How It Works: When customers select filter options, the product list automatically updates to show matching products.
